Our Team

Managers

Bea, pronounced like the letter, is a undergraduate student at PSU majoring in biology. They’ve been interested in myclogy for over 20 years and are driven to work with sustainability, equity, and democratization of systems that enable access to human rights. They are also a single parent and member of the Queer community. Bea hopes to proliferate accessible and sustainable methods of meeting the needs of people through a better understanding of fungi.

They serve as the General Manage and earned the award for SALP Student Employee of the year 2022-23. They look forward to assisting the continued growth of the Pantry and its networks of support.

Bea’s office hours are 2:00 to 5:00 on Tuesdays and 3:00 to 4:00 on Thursdays.

Kaylee Neznanski (she/they)

Kaylee is so excited to be a part of the pantry team as the Manager of Operations and Training. She is passionate about continuing her work serving the community and providing access to human rights, which she hopes to continue after graduating. They are a full-time student pursuing a degree in (??) with minors in art and business. When she’s not in the pantry, she can be found looking at pictures of cats.

Shift Leads

Sarah Schaeffer (she/her)

From Hudson, New York, Sarah is working on their degree in Anthropology with a minor in History. Passionate about Food as well as Death Studies, they are thrilled to work at the PSU Pantry to continue to destigmatize food insecurity and serve the student body. When they are away from campus, they are most likely watching old movies or wandering the local cemeteries.

Madison Davis (she/her)

Madison is an undergraduate student majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences and minoring in Communication Studies. With a passion for volunteer work, they started as a volunteer with the food pantry in January 2023 and now work in the pantry as a shift lead. Madison believes the Food Pantry is an essential part of the PSU community and they love being a part of the Pantry Team. Her favorite part of the job is making connections with the staff, volunteers, and members of the community.

Advisor

Angela (she|her) advises the PSU Food Pantry as the Associate Director in Student Activities & Leadership Programs. Angela graduated from PSU with an M.A. in Educational Leadership & Policy with a specialization in Leadership for Sustainability Education. She is currently a Candidate in the PhD in Leadership & Change program at Antioch University and finishing up a dissertation focused on trauma-informed college food pantries for student success. She loves her role working with students to develop professional experience while running a critical service for PSU students.

As advisor to the Pantry, Angela's role is typically more behind the scenes and providing guidance on the strategic direction based on year-to-year organizational memory and research-informed trends in college food security.
